Graaff-Reinet will have its very first “Winter” Christmas in 2016.
This is going to become an annual fund raiser for the well-known Vuyani Safe haven for children in Cradock Street. The intention is to involve the entire town and community. There will be various activities, dinners, Christmas concerts and choirs in and around town throughout the course of a weekend in July.
The main event will be a very special gala dinner for Vuyani hosted and catered by the South African School of Tourism on the Saturday evening of the event. The dining area will be tastefully decorated in an elegant Christmas style with special decorations from (hopefully) across the world.
A special request is going out now during the festive season that folk will buy a special decoration or 2 and send it to Vuyani to use in July 2016. If you are in a position to assist with this event in any way whatsoever, it would be enormously appreciated by all involved.
The decorations can, either be mailed to Vuyani, or if you are able to come to the event, they can be brought straight to Graaff-Reinet and delivered to Vuyani. Anyone traveling to South Africa during the earlier part of 2016 who would like to bring contributions would be encouraged to do so too.
Should it be impossible to contribute Christmas decorations and you would still like to contribute and be part of the fundraiser, sponsors will be welcomed to help fund the children of Vuyani’s dinner as well as other costs including marketing expenses for the event.
